Shelby is a trial attorney with extensive experience representing clients in both criminal and civil matters. Shelby started her career at the Miami Dade Public Defender’s Office where she handled a wide range of felony and misdemeanor cases. During that time, Shelby successfully led trial teams in over 25 jury trials. Prior to joining Bozorgi Law, Shelby worked at a prestigious plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death firm where she represented clients in state and federal court.

In 2020, Shelby joined the Haggard Law Firm, a prestigious plaintiff’s personal injury and wrongful death firm in Coral Gables, Florida. During her time at the Haggard Law Firm, Shelby represented clients in a range of premises liability cases in state and federal court and was successful in obtaining settlements against businesses and corporations. In June 2021 in her first civil trial, Shelby helped obtain a $1.32 Million jury verdict for a client who suffered injuries during an attack at a hotel in Broward County, Florida.

Shelby brings passion and creativity to the representation of clients and dedicates her practice to the vigorous advocacy of each and every one. Shelby believes that every client—no matter what walk of life they come from—should be represented in the way that she would represent her own loved ones. Trust, candor, and open communication are at the heart of all of Shelby’s client relationships.

Shelby moved to Miami from Boston, Massachusetts after graduating from Boston University School of Law. During law school, Shelby interned at the office of the Federal Public Defender in Greenbelt, Maryland and the Public Defender Service in Washington, D.C. Shelby obtained her Master of Arts degree in African American Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations, both from Boston University, where she also competed as an accomplished Division I track and field athlete.
