Highly Experienced Team
Our team is made up of highly skilled trial lawyers, including three former public defenders, one of whom spent 28 years as an assistant federal public defender trying over 100 jury trials. She has been practicing for 30 years. Another partner spent close to 7 years as an assistant public defender in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida, where she tried a high volume of jury trials. She has been practicing for over 27 years and has tried over 75 jury trials.
Two of our lawyers clerked for federal judges. And one of our partners has tried well over 40 complex and lengthy trials in 23 different federal courts throughout the country. These trials all involved complicated novel legal issues and always involved large discovery productions. This particular partner has been specifically sought out for many years by other firms to manage voluminous document sets and to handle the review and organization of discovery in complex matters. She has been practicing for over 40 years.
The kind of trial experience that our firm collectively has sets us apart. Extensive trial experience is a rare skill for any one lawyer, but to have multiple lawyers in one firm with a large volume of trial experience spanning decades is extraordinary.
Lawyers with trial and courtroom experience learn how to think on their feet and use their instincts when having to make decisions. This kind of judgment can’t be taught. It is developed through years of hands-on experience. These skills are a powerful tool when evaluating a case and advocating for our clients, both inside and outside a courtroom.
In addition to trial experience, our lawyers have extensive experience handling investigations and representing clients in matters involving complex alleged fraud schemes, ranging from securities and accounting frauds, to banking and mortgage frauds, to pharmaceutical and health care frauds. One of our partners is known to frequently say, “Of fraud we know.” We have dealt with fraud matters across all different business sectors. This experience leaves us uniquely qualified to handle investigations or cases which relate to fraud or wrongdoing.
As a team of defense attorneys with decades of defense experience, we have honed a sixth sense for identifying key evidence in a case. This skill makes us uniquely able to spot issues quickly and efficiently.
